Day 1
On the morning of your first day, visit Abu Dhabi’s most iconic landmark; the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. After enjoying lunch at one of the restaurants and cafes at the nearby Souk Qaryat Al Beri, take a short taxi, bus or boat ride to the Louvre Abu Dhabi. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is one of the world's oldest permanently inhabited settlements and a beautiful green oasis full of tall, lush palm trees. Here, you will find the historic fort of Qasr Al Muwaiji, built in the late 19th century and significantly restored over the years by Abu Dhabi’s ruling family. The fort’s exhibition hall tells stories of oasis life, early leadership and the region’s development.
Afterwards, take a drive up Jebel Hafit Mountain; At 1,249 m, it’s Abu Dhabi’s highest peak. The mountain drive is a steep, curving road up to the summit where you can enjoy magnificent views of Al Ain. And in the foothills of the mountain, you will find the 5,000-year-old Jebel Hafit Tombs, more than 500 ancient chambers where ceramics and copper artefacts were uncovered.

A desert safari offers the quintessential UAE experience and is one of the best ways to discover the beauty of Abu Dhabi's desert landscape. You'll have the chance to spot local wildlife, including gazelles and ostriches, while also seeing camels, an enduring symbol of the desert. That said, three to five days is ideal if you'd like a more relaxed pace and want to include beach time, shopping, Yas Island's theme parks or a desert safari.
Abu Dhabi is a modern and welcoming destination but you should respect local customs by dressing modestly in public, avoiding excessive public displays of affection and consuming alcohol only in licensed venues. It is also advisable to ask permission before photographing people, particularly women, and to avoid taking photographs of government buildings, military installations, ports and airports.
Yes. If you are enjoying the beach or at the hotel pool, shorts are fine. In shopping malls and other public areas, it's advisable to cover your shoulders and knees. If you are visiting a mosque or other religious site shorts, sleeveless tops or any kind of revealing attire must be avoided. Ladies are often asked to cover their hair when entering a mosque.
